Lowcountry Computing Texting Policy

We do not accept text messages.

At Lowcountry Computing, LLC, our technicians (including owner John Stewart) do not accept text messages. Text notifications are turned off on all company devices.

This policy has been in place for over 20 years for two primary reasons:

  1. Safety: Our technicians spend significant time on the road. Avoiding text messages while driving supports the safety of our employees and everyone else on the road, in line with safe driving best practices.

  2. Service Focus & Centralization: Centralizing all service requests through phone calls and email ensures our technicians remain focused on their assigned tasks and that service requests are properly tracked and prioritized through our central systems.

South Carolina Hands-Free Driving Requirement

South Carolina’s Hands-Free Law prohibits drivers from:
Holding or supporting a wireless telephone or portable electronic device while driving
Writing, sending, or reading text-based communications (including texts, instant messages, and emails) while driving
Reaching for a device in a way that requires the driver to leave a seated driving position.

For information on use, and sharing of collected data see our Privacy Policy.
