Plan your backup fist, your backup is covered
Tested Restores
We offer recovery test of files and/or full systems. Knowing the time to restore allows prioritizing and planning business continuity. Based on recovery speed needed the method of backup(s) is designed to fit the business.
Local Backup
The old school method still works. A local hard drive or a network attached storage that backs up data and systems.
Something you can hold in your hand.
Online Backup
Periodic copy of data or systems to encrypted storage in the cloud. Allows for recovery when physical hardware or location is not available.
Off Site Rotation
Rotation of backup drives, where one drive is disconnected from the network protects from cyber attack, fire, employee actions, and hardware failure. All can all be recovered from the drive that was not on site during the event.
Reporting
Lowcountry Computing adds a monitoring service. Emails from all backups are compiled into one report. It's your backup, it's your report. We are happy to look it over and respond to backup issues.
Copy of Cloud
Overlooked or misunderstood, cloud is not backed up. There are a lot of services between you and your data in the cloud. Syncing cloud with a local system is low cost insurance for when the site is not available.
Are you Phone, Internet, or Cloud Dependent
If your sales, invoicing, shipping, credit card sales, stops when the Internet/phones/web site is down, we need to address that. This might be redundant services or off line processes. How long was the last outage and how long was recovery?
That one directory you must have now
This answer might change depending on if it is pay day or not. There may be multiple needs, per department or function. How quickly do you need access, worst case? How quickly does your current solution provide access?
Can program run on other systems other locations
Are there key hardware or core systems that would stop a department, office, or your business from running. Can those processes be ran another way, how long can you be without those key processes?
Minimum Viable Business
To open the doors, interact with customers, make it to meeting, or deliver the product/service what is the minimum technology needed, where are those files and databases and are there off line or alternative methods?
we got IT covered
Our approach helps business with business continuity and recovery from situations below.
Systems Down
Middle of the night or some time during the day the file, internet, database, devices, or other key component becomes unavailable.
How long will we be down
Even before the cause of the down time is found. Question is followed by how do we continue selling, invoicing, shipping, ect.
Is there a backup?
Last backup date/time and location needs to be located. Then, confirming it has what is needed to be restored. Finally, what work if any will need to be re-done?
Are we back up yet
Restore happens in phases and there is always someone that keeps trying to logon and reporting results of every attempt. A little success give some false hope but can slow the entire process.
What if we...
As the process continues several ideas on continuing business or accessing data a different way start to be tossed around. These may be good ideas, that would be great at a round table before they are needed. In the middle of a recovery they are shadow IT, work arounds that may not comply with business practices.
